A Celebration of Poetry at the Cross Trust Poetry Picnic

This week our students enjoyed the Cross Trust Poetry Picnic which was hosted by King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes. Students from King’s Bolton, King’s Hawthornes, King’s Liverpool, and King’s Warrington came together for a magical day of poetry.

Despite the blustery weather, students fully embraced the day’s events starting with a lively, creative workshop with poet, Terry Caffrey. This was followed by the students reciting their favourite poems to their peers across the Trust and, finally, a well-earned picnic to celebrate.

Congratulations to King’s Warrington who deservedly won the trophy, with King’s Hawthornes coming a strong second. A huge well done to all our Great Schools Trust poets!
