The Great Schools Trust is delighted to announce that Cadet Warrant Officer Jake Didd and Cadet Flight Sergeant Amber Ford from King’s Leadership Academy Warrington, have been recognised and commended by their Lord-Lieutenants to receive the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate of Meritorious Service for exceptional service.
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenants are the representatives of the Crown for each county in the United Kingdom. Men or women of all backgrounds, they are appointed directly by Her Majesty the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man is Her Majesty The Queen’s Personal Representative, and is appointed by Warrant of Her Majesty The Queen.
Now in Year 13, Cadet Warrant Officer Didd, has been a longstanding member of the King’s Warrington CCF. Fg Off Richard Walsh RAFAC had this to say,
‘Cadet Warrant Officer Didd is a personable and well-rounded individual with a proven passion for cadet life. He has been a dedicated cadet with King’s Leadership Academy Warrington for six years and the Air Training Corps at his local squadron also. From a young, quiet cadet, CWO Didd has grown and matured into a natural leader and is now the Senior Cadet within our RAF Section. He is the first to volunteer to deliver training and has a can-do attitude towards the most mundane of tasks. He can also motivate others and is looked up to by his peers and the wider school and cadet community. He is incredibly passionate about aviation and his deliverance of content from our training model reflects this. Cadet Warrant Officer Didd is fully deserving of the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate of Meritorious Service.’
Flight Sergeant Ford, in Year 11, has been a member of King’s Leadership Academy Warrington Combined Cadet Force for four years. Throughout her tenure at the academy she has given her all to both her Cadet Career and her academic studies. Flying Officer Lauren Ellis commented,
‘From a young cadet, Flight Sergeant Ford was passionate about the unit and her fellow cadets and wanted to strive. She has completed her classification training and is now giving back to the unit by using her instructional technique and mentoring the younger recruits. This year, during the Coronavirus Pandemic, she brought many ideas to the table surrounding how we could proceed with virtual training and encouraged and motivated others to persevere. She has attended all field days and has taken a natural lead on delivering content. As part of a trust inspection, Flight Sergeant Ford proved her flight and was part of the Guard of Honour for our visitors. Flight Sergeant Ford is a shining example of what a cadet should be, she carries herself impeccably and represents the CCF, the school and the wider trust with the utmost professionalism.’
In addition to this we are proud to announce that Flying Officer Richard Walsh RAFAC has been awarded Lord-Lieutenants’ Certificate of Meritorious Service for Adults for exceptional service.
