Last April a group of cadets from across Great Schools Trust participated in the inaugural Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (JNCO) Cadre at Halton Training Camp, near Lancaster. The Cadre is designed to prepare cadets for promotion to Cadet Corporal, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required. In general Corporals are required to supervise junior cadets performing day to day activities as well as implementing the policies and plans made by higher authority.
The course is designed so that all of the phases of the learning cycle, as defined by Kolb, are covered; student NCOs are presented with the theory, plan to carry out the activity, carry it out and reflect on what went well and what can be improved.
We would like to congratulate the participating cadets for their completion of the cadre and hope to see an impact in their development in wider academy life.
